My recommendation for life jackets includes an advance Type V Personal Floatation Device (PFD) the Mustang Survival PFD, and less expensive type V PFD the Absolute Outdoor, and a children’s PFD a US Coast Guard approved type III vest. The reason why I so strongly recommend a Type V PFD is because these PFD’s are designed to allow you to move around and fish without any interference. In most cases where I am using my Mustang I don’t even notice I’m wearing it! And if you do end up in an unfortunate situation (in the water), there is no sense stowing your life jackets because then its simply too late. Safety is first and foremost whether you on a jetty, a kayak, or a boat wearing the PFDs could literally mean the difference between life and death. Please be careful out there fishalots!
