Why I Picked It:
The Piscifun Nautix Spinning Reel is an excellent all around reel and you may remember seeing this in the beginner category of reels. With all the features packed into this reel at an amazing price point it has to be listed here as well for more advanced fishing. Its just a too well constructed reel to ignore and many of its parts are made in the same factory of the same materials as Diawa reels. The Piscifun Nautix Spinning Reel is an excellent entry, intermediate, and advanced level reel, offering a truly staggering amount of features in a reel, as well as balance, performance, durability, and most of all affordability. Its lightweight Aluminum alloy body and carbon rotor make it not only incredibly durable and strong, but also light for extended fishing trips where cast after cast will not wear you out. The reel features a top of the line triple disc carbon drag washer system which gets this reel a powerful 26lbs of drag for the 3000/4000 size models and a whopping 33lbs of drag for the 5000/6000 models. This is also one of the few reels at this price point that went the extra distance for IPX testing, at an IPX5 waterproof sealed testing with an additional aluminum rotor cover to protect the internal components of the reel from block dust and saltwater as well as additional rubber rings around the reel and 8+1 sealed stainless steel ball bearings, you can abuse this thing to no end and it will still be as smooth as the day you unboxed it. Additionally, this reel and Piscifun really put extra effort into the torque of this reel by providing extra large corrosion resistant aluminum gears, high strength stainless steel gear shaft, and brass pinion gears. With big fishing applications in mind for both salt and fresh water this will be one of the most affordable, reliable, and versatile reels in these equipment lists.

What They Could Improve:
While the Nautix is a truly stellar reel, I’d love to see them bump up that IPX5 rating to an IPX6 rating (which means it was exposed to greater volumes of water to test water intrusion) and put it right on par with really more expensive $250 dollar reels. This reel’s price point already undercuts the competition significantly, but that little extra would be the icing on top of the cake!
